DRP-Detect: Diabetic Retinopathy (DRP) is a leading vascular complication of diabetes and, if untreated, can cause blindness. Early diagnosis and regular screening are essential to prevent vision loss. In Türkiye, over 10 million people live with diabetes, with this number expected to reach 12 million by 2035. However, limited access to ophthalmic care due to physician shortages and healthcare system overload leads to missed examinations. Our project aims to develop an AI-assisted, smartphone-compatible fundus optical imaging system using a 3D-printed device and user-friendly software. The system enables efficient DRP screening in clinical settings. The AI system provides automated diagnostic reports, helping physicians evaluate patients more quickly and accurately. It also allows for disease progression monitoring through regular follow-ups. This technology not only reduces clinical workload but also improves service quality and patient care in diabetic eye disease management.
